FAQ
What is coaching?
A life coach can use therapeutic/psychological tools to help:
• Increase your emotional wellbeing
• Reframe past experiences and challenge your thinking
• Set and achieve goals
• Make significant life changes
• Learn and apply a new skill
• Change your self-identity
My coaching is present and future focused. The only time the past will be explored as a means of understanding your current life experience and belief systems and how they they could be impeding your current goals. My goal is to help you look at where you are, where you want to be, and how to get there.
How is coaching different than counseling or therapy?
A therapist can also help with those areas of life, but they also:
• Treat mental illness or clinical anxiety or depression
• Heal past trauma
• Cope with traumatic loss
• Cope with abuse
• Treat addiction or substance abuse
• Cope with relationship turmoil or violence
A lot of therapy will focusing the healing experience from the past rather than a forward mindset. Clients come to therapists often seeking help with trauma, abuse, treating addiction or treating mental illness.
If your goals surround deeper mental health issues, I may suggest that you first begin with therapy or pursue therapy and coaching simultaneously. As a coach, I am here to empower people to live better lives, not heal them or treat illness.
I am seeing a therapist, can I still use a life coach?
YES! As long as you are in a space where you are being properly treated for any serious concerns or heavy emotional work, life coaching can be added to your life to help take the next steps moving forward. I am more than happy to include accountability on goals you set with your therapist or to not include that at all in our work.
Having a diagnosis or working on healing does NOT mean coaching is ruled out. This is a neurodivergent-friendly place (myself included!)
Is there anything specific that would not make me a good fit for coaching ONLY?
My number one concern is to make sure you stay SAFE and get appropriate treatment. Here are a few things that may indicate you need a higher level of care at this time: experiencing active psychosis, panic attacks requiring hospitalization/intensive care, recent suicide attempts or self-harming tendencies, inability to function in daily life, hostility and/or violent reactions, and incoherency. I will ALWAYS communicate if I have any concerns about topics being brought up in coaching sessions-
Additionally, if you frequently miss session or are non-responsive to communication attempts, I may recommend not renewing the coaching contract or pausing your purchase until a later date.
How do I get started?
Complete the Contact Form to get scheduled for a FREE 30 minute session to make sure we would be a good coach/client match. We will talk about what goals you'd like to achieve from coaching and what style of coaching works best for you. If it seems I might not be the best fit, I am more than happy to refer you to a colleague to continue your search.
How would we meet for sessions?
I hold virtual sessions for clients via Google Meets, but am open to another platform if needed. If you are uncomfortable on camera, you are able to turn off your video function or we can schedule a phone call. I do recommend camera sessions as a way to build bonds and be able to FULLY read body language, but the most important thing is to feel comfortable.
I don't really know what type of structure I want, is it customizable?
Absolutely. Depending on what type of goals you have, I may recommend a package of sessions to use over a course of time, a specific set schedule for meeting, or consider a monthly on-going option.
How do I cancel my coaching plan?

Cancellations vary based on type of service being received.
